Coastal Estates Pinot Noir
It’s Thursday. I’ve
had a long week that centered around the passing of a grandparent. Now I’ve flown back into town, I’m picking up
a few groceries to finish the week and a bottle of wine for this blog. I grabbed this bottle because of its
relaxing, pretty, blue label.
I’m not in the mood for a heavy red or the sugar of a
white. Pinot Noir seems like a good
option – probably light, not too sweet, and easy to drink.
Today, I made the right choice. The flavor is exactly what I’m hoping for –
the nose holds cherry and currant. The
color is a light red with a slight golden hue.
Not as beautiful as a deep, dark, cab.
But interesting.
The first flavor coming across the palate is raspberry. After that I get a little bit of
tobacco.
It isn’t a complex wine.
It’s a drinkable wine. At
$8/bottle, I might have to go back for a second one.
Now, as for my Grandfather?
He’d prefer whiskey, thank you very much!
