The Great American Wine Company: Red Blend
There are times in life that you sign on for something you know isn’t going to turn out well.  These are the times you “take one for the team” or watch someone you love “learn a life lesson.”  These are both tough experiences; most of the time the best you can do is hold on and hope for the best.  You have to let the situation work itself out.  You can’t change anything.  Life must happen.
These are the worst times for me.  I fix things.  I make things better.  I solve problems.  Sometimes, I am the problem.  If I don’t allow other humans the opportunity to experience life for themselves then I’m taking away their learning experiences.
Sometimes, taking one for the team is nothing more than letting someone stumble without picking them back up.
In wine, there are times you will take one from the team.  A gift bottle you’re sure isn’t going to be good.  A bottle you purchase on purpose because you need one more red blend for a class and this is your only option.  The bottle with the cool label you know isn’t going to taste good but you want the bottle anyway.
The Great American Wine Company falls into the category of taking one for the team.  There’s nothing good I can say about this wine.  From the nose to the palette to the analysis, it’s terrible.  Nothing I could do made it any better.  Stay away from this wine, far away.
There are life learning experiences worth having.  This isn’t one of them.
