Domaine Pral Beaujolais Noveau Red Wine
Life with a puppy.
Sigh. My husband and I got a new
puppy in August after we made the tough decision to help our older, handicapped
dog cross the rainbow bridge. In a year
that pretty much was the “hardest year ever,” that decision was the icing on
the tough cake.
This puppy found us (we weren’t looking, but a breeder
friend of ours had a “return” and knew ours had passed away) and life hasn’t
been the same. Gone are my quiet
afternoons of working on my next novel.
There is no more evening television, now we have evenings of throwing
the ball across the living and dining rooms.
Every morning and evening start with a walk (and sometimes a run) around
the block.
The cat stopped talking to me altogether for at least a
month and a half when we brought him home.
Like this wine, Ralphie is fresh, fruity, and full of
energy. I’m trying to enjoy every moment
and remember that the day will come when I miss his craziness and fun loving
life.
This wine is 100% gamay.
It’s full of fruit, not very tannic, and easy to drink. It has an amazingly full body for a fruit
forward wine. This is going to be a
young wine, bottled with the intention of drinking immediately.
Young, even in wine, isn’t always bad. Some wines, like a good Bordeaux, you want to
allow to sit and age properly. But Just
like the puppy brought excitement to my house, certain young wines can bring
you a fresh outlook and a new experience to your palette.
An important note about Beaujolais Nouveau – don’t hold onto
these bottles. They’re created with the
intention of drinking them right away.
These won’t stay good if they sit on your shelf for months or years.
