Juggernaut Pinot Noir

A juggernaut is a literal or metaphorical force that is regarded as merciless, destructive, and unstoppable.  It’s a great word.  I need to use it in my next novel.

In the world of fiction, every juggernaut must have a weakness – a kill switch if you will, otherwise the hero has no hope of ever succeeding.  Whether you’re talking about Marvel, DC, or your favorite vampire novel, no one is truly unstoppable.  The truly unstoppable villain (or hero, for that matter) is boring.  Think about the television series Once Upon a Time.  The evil witch won the battle so many times in the first season that she seemed unstoppable.  The show became boring (because, honestly, don’t we want the hero to win at least once) and I stopped watching.

Granted, the show went on for seven seasons.  But I promise you, the evil witch didn’t win every time.  (And the ratings sank every year.)

This wine is a very good Russian River Valley Pinot Noir.  It does have a weakness, however.  Make sure you give it a little time to get some air before you drink it.  Straight out of the bottle, it’s tight and strong.  It needs the air to open up.  Once open, you’ll get good dark fruit flavors with an overlay of smokiness.  It’s complex and goes well with grilled meats.
